Competitive human capital: Supporting the Transformation of Tabasco
In rendering its second annual report of activities for the period 2009-2010, Aguilar Sarai Barojas, rector of the Universidad Tecnológica de Tabasco (UTT), detailed the achievements of this school, the first of its kind in the state and the South East country.
Before the Board of the Universidad Tecnológica de Tabasco (UT), teachers, students, administrators and a representative of Gov. Andres Granier Melo, Gustavo Jasso Gutierrez, Secretary of Planning and Development, the Chancellor of the UTT showed the progress made, attached the guidelines to fulfill the mission of providing innovative education, to train professionals who contribute to the transformation of the productive sector and the development of the country.
Accompanied by state and federal education authorities, the Board, as well as employers, Barojas Aguilar said the reporting period was marked by two actions: support and effort.
"We had the plotted course, focused and committed to the graduates of Senior Technical University (TSU), to offering you, the continuation of studies, for which engineering started five runs in continuity with the TSU racing," said the rector.
"For students, we had practice trips, including stays in France, Canada and the United States, grants and support, and for teachers, we held the training and scholarships for undergraduate and graduate studies and the maintenance of infrastructure, among other activities, "said Aguilar Sarai.
In his message the teacher Barojas Aguilar said "we get our indicators of academic achievement on average to move a whole (7.2 to 8.2); of the works carried out Uche Kuku Culinary Center, comprehensive project which arose from the need to offer the university community a place to eat healthy food with the help of professionals such as chefs and nutritionists. "
Similarly, reported that the UTT "we strive to raise the academic indicators, to generate savings, whose resources were used to link academic needs and priorities".
He also stressed that the university has been attached to directed austerity agreement called the head of state executive, watching every dollar allocated to the institution, and has called on the community care facilities and the use of inputs.
Finally, said the crisis we are experiencing a challenge and that peaked the commitment has always been the governor with the education of the youth of the UTT, who instructed that no reduction in the budget for our university, "and redouble our efforts in stewardship. "
For his part, Secretary of Planning and Social Development emphasized that the formation of human capital for the transformation of Tabasco, is one of nine vertebral axis of public policy contained in the National Development Plan 2007-21012.
Proof of this is the opening of new offers of higher education in Tabasco, which helps to prevent our young people to emigrate to other cities or states, saving families the cost of transportation and lodging.
Jasso Gutierrez noted that currently 13 of the 17 municipalities have centers of excellence, and will shortly be put into operation a new institution at this level.
He stressed that it will continue conceiving education as the most valuable tool for individual and collective progress.
In turn, extended his congratulations to the leadership Sarai Barojas Aguilar and his team of teaching and administrative work for the noble work they do to train new generations, who will be leaders and important players of the Transformation of Tabasco.
