The Government of Mexico, in coordination with the Ministry of Education, the National Association of Technical Universities and the Polytechnic University of the Toluca Valley, organized the International Congress of Applied Mathematics which included speakers from several countries including England, France United States, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Romania and Mexico.
The Congress was held in the city of Toluca, Mexico State in which there were a total of 6 plenary sessions, 12 roundtables, 41 presentations, 12 workshops and 4 mathematics competitions for different levels of education.
The conference covered topics of interest such as evaluation of the subjects of mathematics in the context of competency-based studies, application of mathematics to economics, the Monte Carlo method and current trends in research on applied mathematics and other important issues.
The University Center participated with the presentation "Working with functions defined in power sets for data mining applications", offered by the MSc. Martin Gpe. Chac Kantu, teaching careers and Telecommunications Mechatronics.
