In support of international undergraduate students in Business Administration from the University of Gastronomic Valle de Mexico (UVM) campus Villahermosa, Governor Andres Granier Melo restaurant opened a laboratory in which to conduct their practical experience and prepare properly this global industry.
In a simple ceremony, the president cut the ribbon on the property located within the premises of the UVM, whose students are prepared under a concept known as Swiss glion, where he also taught international bachelor's degrees in Business Administration Tourism, Hospitality and Ecotourism.
Accompanied by Emilio de Ygartua and Monteverde, rector of the college, Granier Melo was informed that the restaurant is used by students of fifth semester of the degree in gastronomy for food preparation practices, retail and administration for a month and a half.
He thanked the many visits that the Chief Executive has made this university, "and we thank you for making space in their activities, especially at a time when the region of La Chontalpa suffers the consequences of the nature and needs attention to get through. "
Before Paloma Robles Rives, Secretary of Tourism, De Monteverde Ygartua and noted that the concept GLION at UVM Tabasco is a breakthrough nationally for its high quality standards in the preparation of future professionals in matters of gastronomy, tourism and hospitality. "The concept is taught in Swiss GLION three campuses in 16 Southeast and nationally," he explained.
Carlos Rafael de Jesus Alipi Mena, coordinator of the UVM-glion, explained that it adheres to the requirements of the labor and has a high academic level. More than 40 percent of the curriculum, he said, include professional practices, both local facilities and in important national and international tourism, hotel, dining and ecotourism.
Andres Granier toured the facility and greeted the students who prepared food, served at the tables and tended bar drinks. Alipi Mena explained what each one of the areas of the restaurant that is open to students and the general public with affordable consumer prices.
