I share with you the most relevant activities in my preparation for the months of April, May and June 2009. Also, I'm finishing the 2nd year of PhD in Government and Public Administration.

The MEPA has proven to be a training program, which is useful for the training of young politicians. It is a quality training program inspired by democratic values ​​that strengthen the leadership qualities of young Latin Americans and provides a set of knowledge and practical tools for political action. The group MEPA in its eleventh edition, includes 22 youngsters from 14 Latin American countries, representing various political parties and movements of different ideologies.

As part of the seminar to strengthen the municipalities, the mayor of Getafe, Madrid community, Pedro Castro Vázquez, who is also President of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces of Spain, instructed us on strategies to achieve better development.

A workshop was held at the headquarters of the Congress of Deputies of Salamanca, Spain. We were present at a meeting of the House and told us about the functioning of the deputies and the way they work.

We visited the headquarters of the European Commission, being responsible for proposing legislation, implementing decisions, upholding the Union treaties and, in general, is responsible for day to day of the European Union.

For the powers that the Ombudsman has met with the authorities of the institution, who left us clear of the main functions. The Ombudsman's mission is to protect and defend the fundamental rights and civil liberties of citizens.

Meeting with members of the General Union of Workers (UGT), trade union organization structured as a confederal character, comprising territorial unions, state federations and unions.

The Spanish Economic and Social Council is integrated with other business organizations and trade union representing the interests of citizens, is configured as a high government advisory body, so that their voices are heard in decisions affecting different sectors within the Spanish society.

In the framework of the visit to the European Union in Brussels, were met at the European Parliament where we distinguish the essential functions of this unique institution in the world, representing about 490 million people, with 785 MEPs.

The seminar "Modernization and prevention in the public safety policies" was given by Miguel Angel Fernandez, deputy director of operational National Police of Spain, who addressed the main aspects that make up the security in advanced democratic societies.

The Director of Opinion Research Center Gabriel Colome, gave a public workshop, where we explained the importance of knowing how to understand and describe the results of the surveys.

Unforgettable experience was the talk with former deputy Sigifredo Lopez Tobon, kidnapped by the FARC in Colombia for 7 years and sole survivor of the 11 deputies who kidnapped.
