Secretary of Education (SE), Rosa Beatriz Luque Greene, headed Wednesday to reinstall Promajoven Committee, and the delivery of 54 fellowships to support equivalent to 351 thousand pesos, young mothers and pregnant women between 12 and 18 years of age, enrolled in basic education in nine municipalities in the state.
Reported that the secretariats of Education, federal and state launched this program to help combat dropout, which also serves to support the conclusion of its primary and secondary studies of women who become pregnant at a young age.
For this sector of the population does not truncate their studies, said the state agency has implemented workshops in schools, working in partnership with foundations and associations that offer lectures to parents and students.
In the event, the CEO of Scholarship, Gilberto Eduardo Valenti said that in 2007 it invested 351 thousand pesos, distributed among students of Bala, Cardenas, Centla, Central Huimanguillo, Jalpa de Mendez, Macuspana, Nacajuca and Teapa, who met the established profile.
He noted that this year has meant an investment of one million 514 thousand 500 pesos, which will be awarded to 233 young mothers who aspire to get the scholarship for as long as they meet the requirements previously established.
In the presence of the director of the Women's State Institute (AEI) Torres del Carmen Leticia Pulido reported that this support consists of 650 pesos per month during the school year, so it is a single payment of six thousand 500 pesos per student.
